About Menière’s Disease Neuroscience Laboratory (MDNL)

Menière’s disease (MD) is an inflammatory disorder of the inner ear defined by episodes of vertigo associated with sensorineural hearing loss, tinnitus, and aural fullness. Epidemiological, clinical and molecular research support several mechanisms, including rare genetic variants, leading to autosomal dominant or recessive inheritance, and changes in the immune response.

The MD Atlas of Genes and Cells is an open repository of genomic, epigenomic and transcriptomic datasets hosted by the Kolling Insittute at University of Sydney to facilitate the molecular diagnosis of Meniere disease. These datasets have been generated by a large international collaborative Consortium to define rare genetic variation and immune profiles and support the clinical and molecular diagnosis.

Datasets

The DNA sequencing database v1 contains a list of variants retrieved from 425 Spanish individuals. Positions have been defined according to the GRChr38.

epigenomics logo

The DNA methylation database v1 contains a list of methylated CpG generated from XX MD individuals.

TranscriptomicThe transcriptomic database v1 contains bulk transcriptomic data from peripheral mononuclear cells from YY MD individuals and single cell RNAseq data from 7 MD participants for B cells, CD4 T cells, CD8 T cells, monocytes, and NK cells.

The Meniere Disease Atlas of Genes and Cells (MDAtgc) is a resource developed by an international coalition of investigators, with the goal of aggregating and harmonizing anonymised coding and non-coding DNA sequencing data, DNA methylation sequencing data and transcriptomic data from individuals with a clinical diagnosis of Meniere’s disease. The MDAtgc is the result of combining independent sequencing projects from unrelated individuals of diverse ancestry, and making summary data available for the wider scientific community.
